The baseball game played by the 'varsity yesterday afternoon was encouraging. It cannot be said to have tested all the men thoroughly, since so much of the work fell upon a few; and yet, for the first time, the nine as a whole showed that it could gather itself together and play a creditable game. The immense difficulties which have had to be met this year make even a creditable game by the nine something worthy of no little praise.
