Freshman Crew.

The ninety-seven crew rowed twice a day during the vacation with the exception of Monday and Tuesday. Considerable improvement is evident, and the men are very earnest about their work. There are but two substitutes left, Lee and Phelps, who will in all probability be taken to New London. Duffield who has been rowing No. 3 has been ill; Phelps is taking his place during his absence. The pair oar barge which was ordered from Davy has arrived and is very satisfactory.

The men are rowing as follows: Bow, Kernan; 2, Cornwall; 3, Duffield (Phelps); 4, Sleeper; 5 Houghton; 6, Sprague; 7, Hollister; stroke, Irving; substitute, Lee.

The first of the races will be held on the nineteenth and will be over a mile course; the second will be on the twenty-sixth and will be one mile. The two mile race will be held on the third of May.
