Of the 75 candidates for the freshman crew who started training seven weeks ago, about twenty-four remain. These men have been sorted into a first, second and third crew. The first crew has now begun to use the sliding seats, but the other two are more backward.
Mr. B. J. Legate, who rowed on the winning eights of '78 and '79, will have charge of the crew during the coming year. Mr. Legate is familiar with the methods of Mr. Watson.
