There was no lecture last evening at the meeting of the Cercle Francais, but there was a rehearsal of a few of the scenes and the dances for the benefit of the members present. On Friday next Professor de Sumichrast will lecture on the origin and the sources of the play, Les Fourberies de Scapin. This is open to all members of the University and will take place in Sever 11, at 4.30 p.m.
Camera Club.This evening the Camera Club will give an exhibition of prize English slides for 1892. These include many excellent portraits and marine views, also some slides on athletic life at Oxford, while the landscapes maintain as high an average as that of the last exhibition of the Harvard Club. In addition to these, several slides will be shown from the Albany and Portland Camera Clubs, the first exchanges of the year.
The exhibition will be at 7.30 in Boylston Hall and the public are cordially invited.
Shakespeare Club.A regular meeting of the Shakespeare Club was held last night in Hollis 11. Ten members were present. "The Tempest" was finished and it was decided that "Othello" should be taken up at the next meeting.
Freshman Debating Club.Owing to the class meeting of ninety-eight last night, the debate of the Freshman Debating Club was omitted. The debate announced for last night will be held next Wednesday.
