At a meeting of the prohibition club held Tuesday evening the following officers were elected: President, W. W. Fisher '95; vice-presidents, J. A. Fairlie '95, E. B. Day '96; secretary and treasurer, B. C. Auten '97; executive committee, W. W. Fisher '95, L. J. Johnson, Instr., P. Day '96.

St. Paul's Society.The St. Paul's Society last night voted that a meeting should be held each Wednesday. On the first Wednesday of each month there will be a business meeting; on the second, fourth and fifth Wednesdays there will be talks on church history, to be given by various clergymen; and on the third Wednesday there will be a religious meeting.

Philosophical Club.The next meeting of the club will be held in 26 Grays on Wednesday, November 21. The subject for discussion will be: "Is the method of pure thought valid, and to what extent?"

Freshman Debating Club.The regular meeting of the Freshman Debating Club was held in Sever 11 last night. The question for debate was: "Resolved, That a Representative in Congress should vote, on important questions, according to his own convictions, and not according to the wishes of his constituents." The principal disputants were:-Affirmative: C. E. Morgan, E. L. Millard, F. W. Lake.-Negative: P. Van Daell, S. Brooks-Rosenthal, H. F. Robinson.

The following men spoke from the house: For the affirmative, B. R. Robinson, Zeigler, F. T. Case, C. Grilk; for the negative, Crawley, Dunn, Frost, Letterle, Bushnell, Barovitch.

The judges were W. M. Gardner, Pierson, and E. W. Robinson. Their decision was in favor of the affirmative.

Cercle Francaise.The parts in the annual play of the Cercle Francaise,-This year to be "Les Fourberies de Scapin," were last night provisionally assigned each to three men, with the exception of the leading character of Scapin, which will probably be taken by J. A. Gade '96. The other parts will be finally decided by competition among the several sets of three for each part.

Classical Club.An informal meeting of the Classical Club was held last night at 44 Brattle street. Next Wednesday evening the club will be addressed by Professor Allen.
