As most of the 'varsity football team went to Providence to see the Yale - Brown game Saturday, there were not enough men for two elevens and no practice game was played.
Instead, Waters and Trafford '93 coached the men in breaking through on a kick. Fairchild was out for the first time since he received the injury to his neck, and with C. Brewer, practiced kicking goals from the field.
As there is only one game scheduled to be played before Harvard meets Yale on the 24th of this month, it is proposed to arrange a game with some strong team, probably Brown, for the 14th.
Ninety - Eight Eleven.Ninety - eight did not go to Exeter Saturday on account of the rain, which seemed likely to last all day. However, the time was not wasted. The eleven went to the gymnasium, instead of taking any out - door practice, and there got in a great deal of much needed work on the signals. These were gone through with again and again, until all the team were perfectly familiar with them. This about completes the practice of the eleven in preparation for Tuesday's game with ninety - five.
