The regular meeting of the Wendell Phillips Club occurs this evening in Harvard 1, at 7.30. The subject will be "Resolved, That the course of study required for the degree of A. B. at Harvard should be broadened so as to include work done on college papers and in athletics." G. L. Paine '96 and W. S. Appleton '96 will speak on the affirmative; E. V. Huntington '95 and H. G. Gray '97 on the negative. All members of the University are invited to be present and to speak.
Republican Club.At the annual meeting of the Harvard Republican Club, held Wednesday evening, the number of members present showed that interest in the Republican party was still active in the college, even after the election in an "off year."
After the reading of the report for the past year the following officers were elected: president, J. M. Perkins L. S., of Tamworth, N. H.; secretary, C. E. Bryan '96, of Washington, D. C.; treasurer, R. C. Davis '97, of Fall River; Mass. Executive committee: from the Law School, John Quinn, H. C. Quinby; from '95, S. E. Johnson, J. G. Kaufman; from '96, C. Dickinson, A. R. Sherriff; from '97, F. P. Bonney, S. P. West.
