ALL pitchers and other candidates for the 'varsity nine must be on Holmes Field at 3 o'clock today.

++'97 ELEVEN. - Every member of '97 who is physically able to play football must be dressed to play, in the Soldiers Field athletic building at 3.45 sharp. Lockers can be had by applying to Dennis.

C. M. WELD.'VARSITY GLEE CLUB. - The trial of candidates for the 'Varsity Glee Club will be held tonight at seven o'clock in Lower Dane. The trial will be continued tomorrow evening at the same time and place.

W. D. BROOKINGS, Leader.HARVARD UNION. - The Harvard Union will hold its first debate for the year Friday evening, October 5, at 7.30 in Sever 11. Subject, Resolved, "That it is the duty of a Harvard student to take an active interest in party politics." All men who have recently entered the University are particularly invited to this debate. Competitive debate for new candidates, Oct. 19. Subject: Resolved, The best interests of the United States demand at this time the election of a Republican House of Representatives.
