A meeting of the Student Volunteer Committee was held last evening. It was decided to commence at once to raise the eight hundred dollars necessary to pay the salary of Mr. Birtwell, who will have the work in charge. Each member of the committee has been assigned one or more dormitories and will visit men personally so far as possible. Subscriptions may also be sent to C. E. Noyes, 7 Ware street.

As soon as Mr. Birtwell arrives in Cambridge, a meeting will be held in Sever 11, when he will explain in detail what the work will be in each department. This meeting will probably be held a week from Tuesday.
