'Varsity Practice.

The 'varsity football practice yesterday afternoon was rather easy on the men, but during the short line-up, the two elevens were worked harder and they played a sharp and quick game. For the first time this year, Mackie donned his football clothes and took part in the preliminary practice in which the backs rehearsed the signals and ran with the ball behind a good bank of interference headed by Waters. In breaking up this interference, Gierach displayed pluck and endurance. The familiar figure of Bernie Trafford was seen running here and there, coaching the players. Most of the men who played in Saturday's game were laid off and took light practice by a short run, accompanied by Mackie. Hallowell was out for the first time since his injury, but did not take part in the active practice. During the short time the two elevens lined up, the 'varsity scored two touchdowns. The first was made by Brown who ran from the middle of the field, aided by excellent interference. The first eleven scored again by successive rushes through the centre and the ball was pushed over only after a hard struggle.

There will be no game tomorrow. Owing to the hard playing Saturday and the contemplated game with Cornell next Saturday, the management has decided not to arrange a game, and the men will engage in active practice the rest of the week. The men lined up as follows:
