Tennis Tournament.

In the semi-finals of the singles yesterday, G. L. Wrenn beat A. Ingraham, 6-3, 6-1, and J. B. Read beat A. S. Pier, 4-6, 10-8, 8-6. The latter match showed some very pretty tennis. In the first set Read started in to play net, but though he did some very clever work there, the swift drives of Pier forced him back. In the last two sets Pier's strokes became slower, and every point was hard fought. Read began to lob steadily and accurately, and the weakness which Pier showed against this style of play finally lost him the match.

Only one match was played in the doubles, J. B. Read and J. H. Chase beating H. P. Walker and F. E. Frothingham 6-2, 6-2.

The finals in the singles will be played this afternoon on the Carey court at 1 o'clock between J. B. Read and G. L. Wrenn.
