Weld Boat Club.

It is proposed to have a race for organized fours this fall, on the same plan as the one last spring. Barges will be reserved for the crews as fast as they are organized and the race will be rowed from the Harvard Bridge to the Union Boat House some day near the first of next month. A cup will be given to each man, including the coxswain, of the winning crew. Members of the club who wish places on crews must send their names to the secretary, W. S. Youngman, Hastings Hall, before October 19.

Harvard Union.The first regular business meeting of the Harvard Union was held last night. It was decided to appoint a committee to cooperate with the Wendell Phillips Club in making arrangements for the annual Harvard-Yale debate.

Next Friday night at 7.30 the Union will hold a competitive debate for membership in Sever 11. The question will be "Resolved, That the best interests of the United States demand the election this fall of a Republican House of Representatives." The debate will be opened in the affirmative by E. H. Warren '95; in the negative by S. H. Foster L. S.

Freshman Debating Club.The first regular debate of the Freshman Debating Club will be held tomorrow evening at 7.30 in Sever 11. The question will be, "Resolved, That more class spirit would be beneficial to the best interests of Harvard."

All freshmen interested in debate are cordially invited to be present, whether they are members of the club or not.
