The regular weekly meeting of Professor Thayer's Bible Class was held last evening in Holden Chapel with about twenty-five men present. Professor Thayer gave a ecture on the Epistle of Paul to the Romans, in which he read and interpreted passages from the text. After the lecture the professor remained for some time to answer any questions the members wished to ask him.
The class was formed by several members of the University at the beginning of the year, and was put into the hands of Professor Thayer. It's object is the study and interpretation of the Bible, and a meeting is held in Holden Chapel every Tuesday evening during the college year.
The first Bible Class of this kind was one which was held here a number of years ago by Professor Thayer, and which used to meet every Sunday afternoon in the chapel of Dr. McKenzie's church. Three years ago another class was instituted and conducted by Professor Lyon, but after the first winter fell into abeyance and from then until now no attempt has been made to have a regularly formed Bible Class.
