Crew Notes.

Most fortunately for Harvard, Harry Keyes has found time to get away to New London to coach the crew, as he had not expected to be able to do. Keyes was in the class of '87 and rowed on the winning 'varsity crew of '85, and is one of the best coaches Harvard has ever had. He trained the crew for the race of '91, and also for a short time before the race last year, but was not with them long enough then to correct their faults. But now contrary to his expectations he is able to give a considerable time to the crew, and together with the help of Perkins, the 'varsity should improve rapidly.

It is probable that some changes may be made in the bow. It may be that Newell will be taken from three and Richardson put in his place. Burgess is a good man at bow, but weak, and Newell will perhaps be put back at one. The other end of the boat is in good condition, and the crew as a whole, despite several defects, is rowing very fast.
