Oliver Whyte Jr. '93 died of pneumonia at his home in Medford, Tuesday, at 2 o'clock. On Saturday morning last he decided to go home to recover from a severe cold from which he had been suffering for over a week. At the railroad station in Boston he became unconscious and remained so till found by some one who knew him. He was taken home and from Saturday till the time of his death there was little hope of his recovery.
Whyte was a popular man and an excellent scholar. He sang on his freshman glee club and later for a short time on the 'varsity. His death seems particularly sad when one considers the nearness of his graduation and the fact that he was an only child.
Chapel services Friday morning will be made commemorative. The funeral will take place at his home on South Street, Medford, at 1.30 tomorrow. Train leaves Haymarket Square at 12.45.
