Hovey has stopped training with the 'varsity nine now, having decided to devote his time to tennis in stead. He leaves the nine with the understanding that if he should be needed he will return to his old position. It is his desire, however, to improve his game of tennis, and as he cannot do that and play ball too, in addition to his law school work he finds it necessary to give up base ball. As a result Frothingham will probably play second, and Corbett right field, as before. Mason is again training with the nine, and will probably soon be back in his old form.
