The Princeton freshman nine defeated the Harvard freshmen at Princeton last Saturday by a score of 9 to 8. It was the first time the freshmen of the two universities had ever met on the baseball field and intense interest was centered in the meeting. Both teams batted hard, but Harvard's costly errors lost her the game.

Harvard started in with a rush, making three runs in the first inning and two in the third, as the result of nine clean hits. Kerr, Princeton's pitcher, was knocked out of the box and Wilson was put in his place at the beginning of the fourth inning. It was a lucky change for Princeton as Wilson held his opponents down to a few scattering hits and Harvard did not score again until the seventh. The result of the game was in doubt up to the last inning, when Princeton scored a run and won the game. For Harvard, O'Malley caught a steady game and Hayes fielded well. Wilson and Williams, the Princeton battery, did the best work of all the players.
