The freshman nine is just beginning regular outdoor work. The material is very good and the only thing necessary to make good a nine is the incentive of a game with Princeton. The team played its first game on Saturday with a picked nine from the Law School. Lee and Trafford played on the Law School nine. The freshman won by a score of 13 to 12. They played as follows: Armstrong 1b., Hayes 2b., Winslow 3b., Macurdy s. s. Pame l.f., Morse c.f. Gouterman r.f. batteries, Keefe and Morton. McCarthy and Griffin, Kingsbury and O'Malley. Brown. temporary captain, did not play on account of an injury to his hand.
The freshman will be kept at work during the recess. They will practice every afternoon on Jarvis field and on Fast Day will probably have a game with the Stonehams.
