John G. Clarkson finished his month's coaching of the Yale University team last week.

The last number of the Wellesley Magazine contains an article in memory of Phillips Brooks.

Yale defeated the University of Virgina base ball team Saturday at Richmond by a score of 14 to 8.

The University of Pennsylvania ball team was defeated Saturday by the Philadelphia Club, score 15 to 6.

Walter Camp has an article on the "Columbia Athletic Outlook" in the current number of Harpers Weekly.

The Historical Relations of Harvard to Canada was the subject of an address before the Canadian Club on Saturday evening by Dr. Benjamin Rand.

The Catholic University at Washington which has been in existence four years, has at present 22 students and about the same number of professors.

During the Fast day recess the Tufts glee, mandolin and guitar clubs will visit Maine, and sing in Augusta, Farmington, Auburndale and Deering.

Last season's rules will govern base ball games at Tufts.

Mr. J. H. Humbert, Assistant to Mr. Cran at University 5, has resigned his position. Mr. H. C. Boynton of Plymouth will take his place.

The Andover Theological Seminary scholarship of $600 annually, which provides for two years study in this country or abroad, has been awarded to James H. Ropes, P. A. '85.

Professor Winthrop More Daniels of Wesleyan University has been called to be assistant professor in political economy, and Taylor Reed has been promoted to be assistant professor of astronomy at Princeton.
