Hopkinson beat '93 yesterday in a ten inning game by a score of 9 to 8.
The base ball team of the Chicago Athletic Club will contain three Harvard graduates: Dean. Alward, and Tilden; two Yale graduates: Pool and Calhoun; and one Princeton graduates; Ames. J. A. Murphy the captain of the team is a graduate of St. Louis University.
Speaking of Harvard's playing in the game with the University of Pennsylvania, the University Courier makes this courteous comment. "With the score nine to nothing against them they only played the harder to win and their plucky uphill fight was admirable although unpalatable."
The 2.30 bell yesterday afternoon served another purpose besides calling men to recitations. It announced the triumphal entry to the yard of Old John and his sumptuous turn out. The fruit business will doubtless be very much accelerated by the new donkey and though we have some forbodings about John's personal safety we wish him and his donkey long life.
