During the recess the work of the 'varsity crew was increased and the men rowed twice a day instead of once. The mornings were given up to coaching in the pair oars and in the afternoons the men went out in the barge. The order in which the men rowed was changed very little. On Tuesday, Fennessy was tried at stroke. The usual order, however, was as follows:

On Tuesday the new launch, John Harvard, was used for the first time. The machinery is the same that was in the old launch, the hull only being new. She is painted white, is a little longer than the old one and is warranted to be faster.
Yesterday afternoon there were some changes made in the order of the men as follows:
