THE appointments of President Francis Walker of the Institute of Technology as orator, and of Mr. Morris Thompson as poet, of the Phi Beta Kappa exercises for this year, are very satisfactory. President Walker is too well known to need any words of explanation, and his scholarly attainments admirably fit him for the place of orator. While Mr. Morris Thompson is not so well known, perhaps, he is nevertheless a man of marked ability and learning and will make an excellent choice for poet. Certainly these two positions could not be filled by better representative men.
