Professor Martin Kellogg, the professor of ancient language at the University of California has been elected President of the University.

Pres. Eliot is to present resolutions commemorative of Phillips Brooks, at the next meeting of the Unitarian Club at the Vendome, Feb. 8.

Brainard G. Smith, A. M., associate professor of elocution and oratory at Cornell, has received a call from Hamilton to accept the new chair of oratory which has been established there.

Walter Littlefield '92 has just published a very neat card memorial of Phillips Brooks, containing a very good likeness of the late Bishop with a fac-simile of his signature, a view of Trinity Church and an original sonnet.

Mr. G. P. Baker will give a lecture before the Prospect Union on Wednesday evening, on "Dramatic London in Shakespeare's Time." This will doubtless be of value to men in English 23.

The Boston base-ball nine will play with Brown at Providence, April 5, and at Boston April 6; and with Harvard either at Worcester or some city in Connecticut on April 11.

Howell Edmunds Jackson, who is to take the late L. Q. C. Lamar's place as associate justice of the Supreme Court, was graduated from East Tennessee College. in 1848.
