The students will be interested in the reports of the secretary and treasurer of the Annex, brief summaries of which are published in another column. The report shows that the plant of the institution has grown and that there has been a corresponding increase in the number of students. This growth in the plant has been rather in the nature of improvement and expansion of the present buildings than in the addition of any new ones and the great cry now is for new buildings for the library, the laboratories and the gymnasium. The Annex is rapidly outgrowing its present quarters and must soon have much more room if the number of students advances in the future as it has done in the past. Aside from this hindrance the work of the institution gives every reason for congratulation. The work of the year shows that more and more young women are being attracted to collegiate education, and more significant yet, to graduate and special courses, where specializing is given its great opportunity for development. In this matter of collegiate education the training of young women is growing more and more like that of young men and it is the hope of the Annex authorities that the two lines of work now running almost parallel may soon merge into one.
