The Harvard representatives in the intercollegiate tennis have had but little success. After each had won by default in the first round, Howland of Yale beat Gosline 4-6, 6-3, 6-3, and Chandler of Columbia beat Read 7-5, 6-4. In this round Chase won from his opponent 6-1, 6-3; but in the third he was in turn defeated by Foote of Yale, 3-6, 2-6.
The most promising men still in the tournament are Chandler of Columbia, Howland and Foote of Yale, and Chace of Brown.
