'Varsity Crew Notes.

The fall work of the 'varsity crew candidates still continue every day on the river, and it is hoped that the men will derive so much benefit from this work that it will enable them to start work in the spring with better development than has usually been the case. The men have been rowing on alternate days in the four oared shell, the crews being made up as follow:

Blake '94, Bow, Townsend '96.

Rice '96, No. 2, F. Davis '93.

Eddy '95, No. 3, L. Davis '94.

Purden '95, Stroke, Fennessey.

Substitute, Houghton '97.

The coaching is done by ex-captain Vail and Charles Adms, who has coached the crew for the last two years, and who now comes out twice a week. J. Storrow, stroke of the winning '85 crew, also comes out, but most of his coaching is devoted to Fennessy.

The class crew captains are still undecided on the question of fall class races, but it is to be hoped that they will renew the former custom of having races at this season of the year, as they tend in a great measure to keep up the interest in boating in the college.
