Base Ball.

Harvard '95, 5; Hopkinson 3.

The freshmen defeated the Hopkinson team by a score of 5 to 3 yesterday afternoon. The freshmen played a sharp game at first, scoring three runs in the first inning and not allowing a Hopkinson man to reach first for three innings. In the fifth inning the freshmen went completely to pieces; B. Stevenson knocked a ball to third base, Whittemore fumbled it, Whiting picked it up and threw it over Rogers' head allowing the man to reach third. Russell followed with a single, bringing in Stevenson. Paine knocked an easy ball to Gillmore who threw Russell out at second. Harris struck out. Clark knocked a grounder to Whittemore who threw it wild to second; Wadsworth let this ball through allowing Paine to score and Clark to reach second. Garrison got first on Whittemore's fumble and Clark reached third. Then came the climax: Garrison tried to steal second, McAdams threw to Cassatt and there with Clark safe on third they had Garrison between first and second; Rogers then made a wild throw, Clark scored, and Garrison reached second. Fairchild struck out.
