The cricket game arranged for Saturday between St. Paul's and Harvard had to be postponed on account of rain. It will be played if possible on Holmes Field some time in June. It has also been necessary to cancel game arranged with Wanderers for next Wednesday at Cambridge, as Holmes Field could not be obtained.
E. M. Royle, Princeton '83, has invited the Princeton and Harvard athletic teams to occupy boxes at the Standard Theatre the night of May 28, after the Mott Haven games, at the performance of "Friends," which is his composition.
At London, England, Thursday, A. A. Zimmerman of the N. Y. A. C., lowered the quarter-mile cycling record, making the distance in 32 3-5 sec. The previous world's record was 33 3-5 secs., also held by Zimmerman, and made on an American track.
The Yale 'varsity crew rowed its first four miles of the season Wednesday on the harbor. The time was about 21m. 30s. The crew rowed in the same order in which it has rowed the past month, except Ives, who followed the boat in the launch. Rogers '93 pulled No. 7 in Ives' place.
