It is very much to be regretted that any question at all as to the date should have arisen. It was in the hope of bringing about a permanent agreement and of preventing such a discussion that the representatives began the constitution with a clause stating the date on which the games should be held. The course which has been taken this year has been very disappointing from this point of view; it would be much more so if it were allowed to become a precedent. It is sincerely to be hoped, therefore, that when next year it comes to be Harvard's turn to set the date, she will stand by the constitution, and act in a way best calculated to check any further, needless bickering.
