For another reason the class should attend the games; the nine has to be supported financially. Practically all of the support of a base ball team has to come from its gate receipts. For this reason the drain on the class is one that is not felt very severely, but if there are not enough men watching the games to make the gate receipts amount to anything, then the manager will have to fall back on his class for subscriptions. Going to games is one of the easiest possible ways of subscribing money, and moreover it gives the nine a great deal of encouragement.
