It is rather disappointing that more interest was not shown this year in the sparring. If anything, there was less than was manifested at the meetings last year. It would seem unfortunate if the practice of sparring were allowed to die out from Harvard sports altogether, without any attempt to revive it. Just what the best measures to bring about its revival would be, it is hard to say. The question is one which deserves the careful consideration of the Athletic Association. It has been suggested that a set of smaller matches might be arranged before the meeting, where men would have a chance to arouse more enthusiasm for the sport, and get greater confidence in their own ability. Such a plan might be made to work, or it might not; at any rate some step should be taken to keep the interest in sparring alive.
