The 'Varsity Crew.

As yet no great changes have been made in the 'varsity crew, since the last report of the order of rowing was made in the CRIMSON. Lyman has been put into the boat for the last few days, rowing at 4; and Rantoul, who was at 4, alternates with Winthrop at 2. Vail is rowing every day in the pair-oar, for fifteen minutes only, and within three weeks, it will be definitely known whether he can stand the regular work of training or not. Weed has gone to his class crew, so at present, Slade, Vail, and either Winthrop or Rantoul (as the daily arrangements may be) are the only ones who can be considered substitutes.

Yesterday, the crew took its usual two hour row up into the basin, the order being as follows:

Position. Name.

Stroke, Ninde '93.

7, Kelton '93.

6, Acton M. S.

5, Cummings '93.

4, Lynam M. S.

3, Waters '94.

2, Rantoul '92.

Bow, Newell '94

Yesterday, also, might be called "Visitor's Day," with the 'varsity crew, as an unusually large number of old men were down at the boathouse to watch the crew row. Among others, George Keyes, '89, Charles Hammood, '82, Curtiss, '83, and Phillipps, a Cornell man.
