It is rumored that the Yale base ball management will probably engage Henry Gruber to coach the candidates for pitcher and to direct the batting in the cage. Gruber has pitched for the Cleveland League for the past three years.
The registration in the new School of Philosophy at Columbia is 118. The teaching staff numbers 26 instructors. Fifty-two of the students hold degrees, 30 of them having that of A. B. Of the latter 15 are Columbia graduates. There is one student from Roumania who was attracted by favorable notice of the school which he saw in foreign newspapers.
