The Faculty made the following awards of Bowdoin Prizes at the regular meeting held yesterday afternoon.
1. To William Guild Howard '91, $100 for a dissertation on "A Study of Cardinal Newman."
To John Martin Pierce, A.M. $100 for a dissertation on "The Significance for Psychology and Philosophy of the Advances thus far made in the Study of Hypnotism."
To Francis Kingsley Ball A. M. $100 for a translation into Greek of a passage from Newman's Callista.
II. To Robert Morses Lovett '92 $100 for a dissertation on "A Study of Cardinal Newman."
To Richard Walden Hale, '92, $75 for a dissertation on "A Comparison between Bryce's and De Tocqueville's Estimates of American Institutions."
To Charles Rogers Cummings '92 $50 for a dissertation on "A Study of Cardinal Newman."
III. To Walter Boutwell Gage '94, $50 for a translation into Latin of a passage from Sidney's Defense of Paesy.
