The game with the Manhattan Athletic Club which was scheduled for November 12, the Saturday before the Yale game, has unfortunately had to be cancelled. The game would have been a remarkable one as the Manhatten team is composed of such men as Donnelly and Janeway. It is for this very reason that Captain Trafford, Dr. Conant, Mr. Lathrop, Cumnock, Cranston and the rest of the coaches decided that the game would have to be cancelled. The experience with the Chicago team shows that after a big game the work of the eleven is slow and lifeless. The nerves of the men seem to get wrought up to meet the crisis and when this is passed, there comes the relaxation. Now Monday and Tuesday of the final week are the most important days of the whole season and it would not do to have the men in the condition they were after the Chicago game.
