W. H. Wiggin, '93, has been made the business manager of the New Haven Graduate Magazine.

The championship of the Massachusetts Central Cricket League was competed for last Saturday at Brockton. The Harvard team was defeated by the Brockton club. The score 62 to 31.

The first Y. M. C. A. reception will be held in Holden Chapel on Tuesday night.

Harvard has just received a bequest of $8000 by the will of C. L. B. Whitney to found the "Mary L. Whitney" scholarships. This will be increased later to $10,000.

A first number of the Harvard Graduates Magazine will be issued this week. Houghton, Griffin & Co. are to publish the magazine. The first edition will number 14,000 copies.

Professor Norton has just published a translation of Dantes' "Vita Nuova."

Professor Shaler's new book entitled "The Interpretation of Nature" will be published this month.

Professor Shaler has an article in the October Atlantic on the "Betterment of our Highways."

Ground has been broken at Hanover on the new athletic field presented to Dartmouth college by the Alumni.
