The annual chess tournament which begins today promises to be the best which has been held for several years, as indeed it ought, since the two winners will represent Harvard in the first inter-collegiate chess match ever played in this country.
There are twenty-eight entries which have been divided into four sections of seven men each. On the first round, each man will play one game with every other man in his section making six games in all Draw games count one-half for each. The two men winning the most games in each section will go into the second round. The first round must be finished and results left at 19 Holyoke House, by Saturday night, Oct. 29. The committee reserve the right to drop any man who has unfinished games at that time.
