Sophomore Crew.

The sophomore crew began its regular work yesterday and quite a large number of men gave their names to Captain Loring as candidates. The outlook cannot be said to be particularly bright for some of the best of last year's freshman crew, - Bond, Blake, Williams, Saltonstall - are training with the 'varsity, although of course some of these will probably come back to their class crew before May. Waters will not row and Fay has left college. Strict training will begin today and the work will consist, as usual, of pulley-weights, dumb-bells, rowing with the weights, and a short run. Later in the winter - probably by the first of February - the crew candidates will use the tank in the Cary building.

The following men presented themselves as candidates: L. Bacon, R. B. Beals, A. A. Beebe, J. H. Bell, W. M. Cabot, E. E. Clark, A. F. Cosby, L. Davis, H. B. Eddy, R. Furman, W. H. Garland, C. B. Gleason, M. Ladd, R. B. McDaniel, H. G. Spooner, E. C. Greene, G. C. Kellogg, G. C Lee, H. Williams, W. S. Johnson, H. D. Weed, J. Breckenridge, J. M. Thompson.
