The conference which was to have been held at New York Saturday, of the captains of the Harvard, Yale and Princeton nines was postponed. In order that the college may not gain an erroneous impression from the statement made in the public press, the committee, which has in charge the matters of a renewal of athletic contests with Princeton, wish to state that Harvard has made no proposition to Princeton such as the public press have stated, namely that Harvard should play Princeton in foot ball every year on Thanksgiving Day; and that Harvard proposed base ball dates without all due regard to Yale's usual relations with Princeton. No such propositions as these have been made on Harvard's part.
