Although luck seemed to be against us at the Berkeley Oval on Saturday, we scored just as many points as Yale and Princeton put together. This is a victory of which Harvard may well be proud, and we wish to congratulate and to thank in the name of the college the men whose hard work and faithful training brought it about. They have earned the gratitude of the college, and may rest assured that they possess it.

The freshmen also deserve much praise for the steady, successful game which they played against Yale. They had suffered this year from the lack of a competent coach, and they had been beaten by Yale on their own grounds. Their decisive victory in New Haven was therefore no small achievement. The cricket eleven is also to be praised for its victory at New Haven Saturday. The game was no interesting one, and it is to be hoped that it marks the beginning of regular contests with Yale in this branch of athletics.
