The first set of the scrub games was played on Norton's Field yesterday afternoon. The Ward McAllisters beat the Quitters, 12 to 4 by Odell's superior pitching. The Glee Club nine beat the CRIMSONS 16 to 12, owing to their superior batting and the superior errors of their opponents. The CRIMSONS played a strong up-hill game and made the closing innings very exciting.
The editors of the Yale News have started a weekly paper called the Yale Alumni Weekly. It will be issued next year exclusively to graduates of Yale, the object being to bring before graduates matters of the college which will be of special interest to them, and to afford an organ for the expression of graduate opinion concerning the welfare of Yale.
Nine crews will race on the Thames this June. On either the 19th or 23d the Cornell and Columbia freshmen will race; on the 23d or 24th is the race between the Harvard, Yale and Columbia freshmen. The three cornered race between Cornell, Columbia and U. of P. will be rowed on the 25th, and the Harvard-Yale race will end the rowing on the 26th.
