The freshman class disgraced itself very thoroughly last night. Of the whole class only about twenty attended the freshman concert given for the benefit of their crew. This is a new order of things which Ninety-four has established. Hitherto, freshman classes have had enough spirit and generosity to take every opportunity to support the crew. They have always made an especial point of the spring concert; have always given it their best help. The present freshman class is evidently made up of men of a different spirit from the rest of the college. We should really like to know what kind of men compose the class which allows twenty members to represent it at its own concert, given for the benefit of its own crew.

It is plain enough that the class as a whole has cause to be thoroughly ashamed of itself. From all accounts, moreover, some individual men on the club have equal cause for censure. We have no criticism to make on the leader of the club; the ones whom we wish the college to know of are those who compose the management which has tried to run the club on the principle not of the best singer but the jolliest fellow; the management which has conducted itself disgracefully at out of town concerts; the management which had charge of the present concert and which did absolutely nothing to avert the failure which the club met.
