The 'varsity nine will play the Goodyear Rubber Company's team on Holmes field this afternoon at four o'clock. The only other game which is assured for this week will be played at Providence with Brown on Saturday. A game has been arranged with Stagg's nine for Wednesday, but there seems to be some doubt whether it will be played.
It is probable that a series of games for the scrub championship will be arranged sometime within the next few days. Steps are being taken to improve Norton's Field, and to make at least one of the diamonds there available for ball playing. If this can be done without too large an expenditure, the scrub nines may look for ward to an opportunity to gain glory in the near future.
Rain prevented the game at Amherst Saturday.
