Appleton Chapel.

Yesterday evening in Appleton Chapel Dr. Abbott preached an excellent sermon on John x, 10.

The thieves among us today are the spirit of cynicism, asceticism, dogmatism, and agnosticism. In opposition to these Christ has come that we may have industrial, social and intellectual life.

Christ opens to us a vista of an eternal life, a life in the living God. Who comes to mutilate life is a thief and a robber.

During the evening the choir sang the following anthems: O how Amiable are Thy Dwellings-Barnby; Keep Me, Saviour-Brown; O God, My Trust is in Thy Mercy-King Hall.
