The letter which appears in this morning's CRIMSON from the manager of the freshman crew deserves the serious consideration of every man in the class. The freshmen must give their crew proper support. No class should ever be allowed to contract a crew debt; it is a thing which hangs over a class during the entire course and in the end costs twice as much as it would have cost to support the crew properly in the first place. This has been the experience of many classes, and it has resulted finally in a restriction forbidding a freshman crew to go to New London unless the class has subscribed enough in advance to meet the expenses. It would be a lasting disgrace to Ninety-four not to send a crew to New London. Now that a race has been arranged with Columbia and Yale the freshmen have an opportunity to distinguish themselves such as no class has had since '86.
