Of the many branches of athletics, another here at Harvard seems to be gaining ground. By the energy of a few men in the early part of the year, a steadily growing interest in bowling was aroused. The growing popularity of this sport is plainly evident in the bowling tournament to begin today. The number of entries is large and indicates an interest perhaps sufficient to make the sport permanent at Harvard. Bowling, as a wholesome branch of athletics, has much to recommend it to students; and any effort to put the sport on a substantial basis here should be encouraged. It is this end which bowling men have in mind. They wish to awaken a general interest in the sport throughout the college, and ultimately to put a regular and representative Harvard team in the field.
