Yesterday evening at the Vesper Service, Rev. Dr. A. P. Peabody took his text from Genesis, Chapter XXIX, tenth verse. "Jacob went near and rolled the stone from the well's mouth and watered the flock of Laban, his mother's brother."

We should roll the stone away from the well of knowledge, he said, and give the world the benefit of it. Young men at Harvard, in my opinion the greatest University in this country, have exceptional advantages. They have it in their power by leading true Christian lives to do a great deal of good. But it is necessary to love Christ not to profess him. In this age it is not enough to argue with men who do not believe in Christ. We must set them the example, and there is no better way to show them how to be Christians than to live Christ-like lives.

Dr. Peabody spoke very highly of the University extension and hoped the movement would grow in the University. As Jacob gave the flock of sheep water, so should we give knowledge of Christ.
