Yesterday afternoon at the Vesper Service, Rev. Francis G. Peabody read from the 6th chapter of Judges, verses 11-19. He said: Today as well as at the time of Gideon, young men have angels of the Lord to face. They too sometimes feel themselves not worthy of the great work the Lord has called them to undertake; but a few men of great talent are not needed today so much as many men of average ability.
Some of our most promising students recently have had to face the angel of Death; let us try to meet bravely the many angels of Life.
During the service the choir sang following anthems: Chorus from "Tower of Babel"-Rubinstein; Recitative and Duet from Eli-Mr. Edgerly and Mr. Swarts; Look Down, O Lord, from Elijah-Solo and Chorus; Solo by Mr. Walter H. Edgerly, class of '86.
