The crew is fortunate this year in being able to begin early work on the river. In past years we have frequently been very much handicapped by the late springs. This year, however, the river has opened early, and Captain Perkins has immediately taken advantage of the opportunity. The increased time for rowing on the river will not be without its good effects, if the opportunity is followed up carefully and wisely. This year we seem to be pursuing this desired course; and we are encouraged to believe that our present boating interests are in the hands of those who will bring us victory.
