The finals in the tennis tournament for second place were played yesterday afternoon between C. A. Gould '93 and T. Ewing L. S. The cold wind and the early darkness interfered somewhat and kept away many spectators. The first set was long and hotly contested, Gould and Ewing showing themselves very evenly matched. At one time the score was 5 to 3 in Gould's favor, and a little later it was 6 to 5 in Ewing's favor. The latter finally won, 11 to 9.
In the second set Gould had lost strength and courage, and Ewing had gained proportionally. The latter showed himself in good form, and easily won the set 6 to 2. This gives Ewing second place in the college championship.
